migration to the Hawaiian Islands from the north Pacific).

Your hosts at
Hale Kai Hawaii
are Maria and Ricardo, both friendly and
casual, who will direct you to the local sights, points of interest, restaurants, and
more.
Maria is a gourmet cook and has worked as a landscape
designer.
Ricardo is a photographer and geologist.
Breakfast at
Hale
Kai Hawaii is served on the upper lanai, overlooking the
Pacific Ocean and Hilo Bay. The gourmet breakfasts include
Hawaii Island coffee,
island fruits and breads, and special dishes such as
coconut-macadamia pancakes,
basil and
feta frittatas, Hawaiian sweetbread French toast, mango-apricot
scones, Portuguese sausage, and more. Coffee and tea are available at 7:30
am
and breakfast is served at 8 am.
A Common Room is
available with refrigerator, ice, microwave,
glasses and utensils, books, magazines, dining, and touring information.
WiFi, high-speed
internet access is available throughout the property.

Smoke-Free.
Rates plus tax.
Based on double occupancy.
Third person, $30 per night.
Check-in.
3 to 6 pm
Check-out. 11 am
If arriving later than 6 pm, we will leave a note on the front door
with directions to your room.
Please call in advance of
your arrival if
you
need to make other arrangements.
Advance Reservations.
Two
night minimum on consecutive nights.
We recommend reserving at least three nights,
so that you can see more of
the many sights on the east side of the Island of Hawaii.
One Night Reservations.
Accepted a few days in advance or
when they fill a gap between two prior reservations.

before reserving.
Payment. Cash,
personal check, traveler’s check, debit card, or VISA / MC.
Deposit. A deposit of
50% of your stay is required when making reservations.
Balance is due upon arrival. One-night stays will be billed in
full.
Guest Access.
The entrance to all guest rooms requires the use of outside stairs.
There are up to 30 gentle steps with handrails which are lighted at
night.
Children. Well
behaved parents and children 13 years and older are welcome.
Third
Person. Up to three may stay in the Bamboo Room, Moana
Room,
and Pele Suite.
Holiday Reservations. No check-ins or check-outs
on November 28, 2013,
December 25, 2013, and January 1, 2014.
Continental breakfast will be served on December 25 and January 1.
Merrie Monarch
Festival. Five night minimum stay, arriving Tuesday or
Wednesday.
Parking. Onsite
parking is provided.
Cancellation Policy.
Refund less $25 handling fee if notified
30 days prior to arrival; thereafter, refund less handling fee if room
is re-booked.
Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to arrival and no-shows
are responsible for the full balance of the reservation. During the Merrie Monarch
Festival,
refund less handling fee if notified 120 days prior to arrival.
