Property Information

We provide daily fresh breakfast items in your room that may include Hawaii Island coffee, tea, granola, yogurt, sweet cake, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, and locally grown fruits. Read the in-room instruction card for re-stocking instructions, mahalo!

Quiet Hours are 9pm to 8am. Please respect other guests and keep noise contained to your room during these hours.

Please NOTE there is NO AC. Room fans are provided and ocean breezes are almost constant.

Guest rooms have a small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, toaster, dishes and utensils that you may need during your stay.  

Rooms have a outdoor sitting area where you can enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean and Hilo Bay while having a meal or cocktail.

The Common Room hosts a large refrigerator for extra food items. Also find poolside plastic cups, beach chairs and other items for shared guest use.

A swimming pool and oceanfront lanai are available for your enjoyment.

WiFi, high-speed internet access is available free of charge throughout the property.

Hale Kai Hawaii is entirely Smoke-Free.

Check-in. 3 pm or later   Check-out. 11 am

We now provide a No Contact Check-in.  Should you need to contact us, we ask that you wear a mask. 

Self Check-in is facilitated through email and text. Please call in advance of your arrival if you have any questions.

Guest Access
The entrance to all guest rooms requires the use of outside stairs.  There are up to 30 gentle steps in flights of 3 to 10 steps.  The stairs have handrails and are lighted at night.

Parking
Onsite parking is provided free of charge. Park in the space with the initial of your room. For instance “B” is for Bamboo Room guests. 

Reservations

Advance Reservations 
Two night minimum on consecutive nights.  We recommend reserving at least three nights, so that you are able to see more of the many beautiful sights on the east side of Hawaii Island.

One Night Reservations  
Accepted a few days in advance or when they fill a gap between two prior reservations. 

Holiday Reservations
No check-ins or check-outs on December 25 or January 1.

Rates
Rates plus tax.  Based on double occupancy.  Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice. 

Deposit  
A deposit equal to 30% of your stay is processed when the reservation is made and prior to confirmation.

Cancellation Policy
Full refund of deposit if notified 15 days prior to arrival. 

Cancellations received less than 14 days prior to arrival are responsible for 50% of the total.
